Resources Inc. ("Melkior")
(TSX VENTURE: MKR), is pleased to announce that a
diamond drill has been mobilized to its 100% owned
West Timmins gold property in Carscallen Township.
The property is located on highway 101, 30 kilometres
west of Timmins and 5 kilometres west of the Lake
Shore Timmins West Gold property which is being developed.
Previous work by Melkior has identified
four important gold bearing structures within the
Carlton Lake felsic intrusion. These structures extend
over approximately 1,000 metres and have been evaluated
by 400 metres of overburden removal and a 2007 drill
program totalling 2,543 metres (NR November
21, 2007;
NR January 9, 2008).
Previous sampling in trenches
has obtained numerous significant gold assays including
467 g/t in a sample from the 1010 vein. Diamond
drilling with NQ core returned 19.8g/t gold over
3.18 metres on the 1010 Zone, 40.37 g/t gold over
1.0m at the Shenkman and 13.1 g/t gold over 0.85
metres at the Zam Zam Zone.
The current program is
planned for 56 holes totalling approximately 2,930
metres. The holes are designed to systematically
drill the gold bearing veins on two levels at regular
intervals along their length. The drilling began
on June 16 and is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks.
The drill program is under the
direction of geologist Wade Kornik. This news release
has been prepared by Jens Hansen, P. Eng, director
and President of Melkior, a Qualified Person under
NI 43-101. |
